That Monday blues.

There has been a very brief time when the thought of Monday morning made me happy! It was a fleeting moment in my life, a rare occurrence that seemed almost surreal. I remember waking up on a Monday, feeling a sense of enthusiasm and anticipation for the week ahead. The chance to tackle new challenges filled me with a sense of joy and excitement. It was a time when my work felt invigorating, and the tasks ahead seemed like they would lead to personal and professional growth.
Unfortunately, that period lasted for very little time, a mere blip in the timeline of my professional life, and now I am back to the usual uneasiness feeling that starts crawling in on Sunday evening. As the sun begins to set, I can feel the weight of the impending workweek pressing down on me, slowly taking away the joy of the weekend.
It feels unfair. Why should such a beautiful, relaxing time as the weekend have to be overshadowed by the looming presence of Monday?
In order to cope with this feeling, I developed a weekend wrap-up routine that helps me get psychologically ready to say goodbye to the work-less life of the weekend. Slowly, at around 7 pm, I start my meal prep, which not only nourishes my body for the week but also gives me a sense of accomplishment. I light a candle, creating a calming atmosphere that helps ease my mind. I turn on my favorite music, letting the melodies wash over me, and sometimes I find myself singing along, allowing the music to uplift my spirits and infuse my routine with joy.
And you, how do you wrap up your weekend before Monday starts? Do you have your own rituals or routines that help you transition from the freedom of the weekend back into the structure of the workweek?
